A commissioned gift from a mother to her daughter, this lovely creation represents the view from the family's window overlooking the charming square in the France countryside. Heather Kocsis built the wall-sculpture to fit into the corner to capture the corner of the actual place.

“I have always admired Heather’s work so when our daughter announced she was moving back to Toronto from France, I knew I had the perfect idea for a gift to commemorate their time abroad. They lived overlooking a charming square in the countryside near Lyon, so on our last visit we took plenty of photos to capture the view. I approached Heather with the project and she had the brilliant idea of creating a corner piece to better depict the actual square. It is a bit stressful commissioning a work of art, but Heather took us through the process and produced drawings that allowed us to visualize the finished artwork. We were thrilled with the result. She totally captured the essence of Place de la Chapelle. The amount of detail she was able to create is amazing and the piece changes with the light; it is a delight to have in the room and constantly admired by visitors. My daughter was thrilled with the piece!.’’ Clients, Barbara and Phil Cowles
