Much as I do see it from a wood worker’s standpoint there is a greater part of me that apprehends the world and experience in terms other than how something is made. A house, a larger building, a streetscape, a garden, a piece of music, the inside of a concert hall, the light in my house at a certain time of day, the sound of rain as I drop off to sleep. All of these things dissolve my self-consciousness, cause me to forget a certain part of myself, stop the introspection, and experience what is outside of me. And your work does that. It actually draws me to itself, calls me to engage with itself in a way free of judgment. I look at your work and I hear myself say: ‘This is beautiful. I love this.’ “ Barry W.
